Philodendron hederaceumの写真

サトイモ科フィロデンドロン属のつる性観葉植物。心形の光沢のある葉が特徴で、メキシコから南米・西インド諸島の熱帯林原産。シュウ酸カルシウム結晶を含むため摂取注意。

説明

着生または岩着のつる性植物で、気根を出しながら宿主木や岩場を登る。葉は心形で革質、光沢があり、成熟葉は長さ10〜30cmになる。稀に白い仏炎苞と肉穂花序をつける。全草にシュウ酸カルシウム結晶を含み、誤摂取時の皮膚粘膜刺激や消化器症状に注意が必要。

生育環境

メキシコ南部から中央アメリカ、南アメリカ北部、西インド諸島の湿潤な熱帯林原産。林床から中層、樹冠下部にかけて自生し、気根で樹幹や岩に着く。湿度の高い環境を好み、乾燥には比較的弱い。
